Some of my favorite book quotes. Wow. Okay, I have to admit, some of these are from books I tried to read and didn’t get far through, but I liked the quotes.

For example, Tolkien. I struggled with this book, but I love this quote:

There is some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for. ~ JRR Tolkien, The Two Towers

I did love the Harry Potter series. This is a favorite:

Every human life is worth the same, and worth saving. ~ JK Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I am hot and cold about Different Seasons by Stephen King, but I did love the Shawshank Redemption and this is from that novella:

Get busy living, or get busy dying. ~ Stephen King, Different Seasons

I happen to love Anne Rice and Lestat, even though he could be a jerk.

None of us really changes over time. We only become more fully what we are. ~ Anne Rice, The Vampire Lestat

And I can’t forget this one:

Most people are nice when you finally see them. ~ Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

But my favorite book quote of all isn’t from a book (not first). It showed up in a book. Each Beatles biography has it in there, and I love this quote.

And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make. ~Lennon and McCartney, The End

What about you? What are some of your favorite book quotes?

Speaking of quotes, here’s one from my latest book, Bound by Desire, a white hot Older Woman, Younger Man novella.

“I’d be lying if I said I knew.” She laced her fingers together on her lap, then faced him. “I like you. It’s hard for me to admit that because I’m scared—you’re right. I’m a relationship girl and relationships haven’t worked for me. I never thought I’d be divorced and back in the dating pool at the age of thirty-eight. But I am. I know I want stability. Someone who loves me for me—not my ex’s money or whatever. Someone who accepts my kinks and will help me shine, but also wants a partner, not just a submissive.”

From Totally Bound

Stella wants her groove back after her divorce, but she never figured a younger man would be the answer to her prayer. He’s determined to do more than bind her wrists. He wants her heart, too.

Stella Barnes isn’t looking for love. She’s convinced it’s not in her cards. The guys she’s met seem to want her money and greeting card business. When her sister throws a freedom party at the local dance club, Stella meets a man who makes her think twice about giving up on love. Can the young buck command her body and soul in the sensual ways she needs or will her desire to be spanked send him packing?

Wes Chase has known he wanted Stella since the moment he saw her–at the club and two years before when she was still with her husband. Her plan to use him for her date to attend her ex-husband’s second wedding makes him cringe. He’d rather be with her out of love and kinky devotion, not as a dodge. Will he convince her they belong together and he can set her spirt free or will her fear keep them apart?

  1. You picked some great quotes! That Anne Rice quote made me shudder (in a totally good way). Yes, I’ve seen that happen in many people’s lives. There’s no doubt they’ve seen it in mine, too.

    My post.
