Some of my favorite book quotes. Wow. Okay, I have to admit, some of these are from books I tried to read and didn’t get far through, but I liked the quotes.

For example, Tolkien. I struggled with this book, but I love this quote:

There is some good in this world, and it’s worth fighting for. ~ JRR Tolkien, The Two Towers

I did love the Harry Potter series. This is a favorite:

Every human life is worth the same, and worth saving. ~ JK Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I am hot and cold about Different Seasons by Stephen King, but I did love the Shawshank Redemption and this is from that novella:

Get busy living, or get busy dying. ~ Stephen King, Different Seasons

I happen to love Anne Rice and Lestat, even though he could be a jerk.

None of us really changes over time. We only become more fully what we are. ~ Anne Rice, The Vampire Lestat

And I can’t forget this one:

Most people are nice when you finally see them. ~ Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

But my favorite book quote of all isn’t from a book (not first). It showed up in a book. Each Beatles biography has it in there, and I love this quote.

And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make. ~Lennon and McCartney, The End
