Miles Hornish has seen it all—men, women, ménages…but none of them make the grade. No, this self-made real estate magnate wants one person to share his wealth, his bed and his platinum handcuffs. No one seems to fit the bill—except his limo driver, Fynn. But Miles has issues in his past. Will Fynn be enough to help Miles overcome his past?

Fynn Gold likes his job chauffeuring Miles. What’s not to love? Witnessing encounters in the back of the limo and being the one person Miles can trust…it’s a dream job. And a Hot Excerpt:

“I think I’d like to ride up front this time.” Miles slid forward and emerged from the back seat. “You ride up there all alone. Might as well keep you company for a change.” He opened the passenger door and plopped down on the seat.

Stunned, Fynn shut the back seat door and scurried around the back of the vehicle. Something wasn’t right. Miles never sat up front. Hell, Miles never said much more than directions to where he wanted to go and to ask about the weather.

Fynn opened the driver’s side door and sat down behind the wheel. “Where would you like to go, Sir?”

“Home, Gold. I’d like to go home.”

Miles clicked the seatbelt into place and noticed the item on the front seat. Ah, so that’s what Fynn does when he’s waiting. Miles touched the worn edge of the leather cover. Here I thought he watched me.

“I’m sorry, Sir.” Fynn grabbed the iPad and opened the glove box. “I shouldn’t have had that out.”

“Why?” Miles turned in his seat to watch Fynn move. The younger man’s hands trembled. The aura of control slipped, revealing the truer Fynn.

“I’m protecting you when you’re out, not reading the latest by Cash Norman.” Fynn put the car into gear and edged out into the flow of traffic.

Miles focused on Fynn. He wasn’t about to let anyone see into his secret fear. No fucking way. Being in the front seat of the car sent shudders through his body. Instead of closing his eyes, he studied Fynn’s profile. If he closed his eyes, he’d see the accident again. Damn it, he’d relived the crash so many times in his brain, he wanted the whole thing to fizzle away.

Fynn sped around a corner and pitched Miles sideways in his seat. The move squashed him tight against Fynn’s shoulder. “Oh my God. I’m sorry.” Fynn gripped the steering wheel. “The traffic’s bad for this time of night. A ballgame must be letting out.” He came to a stop at the traffic light. “I’ll go a little slower.”

“It’s fine, Gold.” What a freaking great way to come on to a guy! Miles bit down hard on the tip of his tongue. So many other things popped up in his brain. I enjoyed leaning on you. Nice, but the sentiment sounded goofy. How about you take another corner that fast so I can stay tucked against you? Oh brother. Mind if I practically sit in your lap because riding in the front seat reminds me of the car crash that killed my first lover? He’d rather eat live bait.

Miles could almost hear his former lover laughing. God, Hornish. You’re a confident real estate mogul and a Dominant. Stop being a fucking pansy. Make a move or shut the fuck up.

Except he hadn’t said much at all.

“Gold, do you mind if I call you Fynn?” Miles balled his fists to keep the trembling at bay. From the ride or because he’d ventured into a new area of his relationship with Fynn? He wasn’t sure.

“Uh, that’s fine, Sir.” Fynn kept his gaze forward and his grip tight on the wheel. “You can call me whatever you’d like.” He maneuvered the car off the freeway and headed down the city streets to Miles’ mansion. The other mansions and estates twinkled in the bright moonlight. Splashes of color from the landscape lighting offset the pale hues from the moon.

Miles’ thoughts turned from the scenery to Fynn. Had Fynn watched him masturbate? Miles snorted. He sure as hell hoped Fynn had seen the show. The girls did nothing for him. Even Galen, his one-time fling, hadn’t set his pulse racing. No, only the sexy man behind the polished shades seemed to give him wood.

Within moments, Fynn drove down the tree-lined lane leading to Miles’ house. He stopped the car beside the main steps. “Home, Sir.”

“Thanks, Fynn.” Miles placed his hand on Fynn’s. “Come inside with me.”

And now a hot excerpt!

“What’s up?” Mrs. Claus perched on Santa’s knee. “This has got to be relationship stuff. You never ask me for help with the production floor.”

“Later. I’ve got some ideas I want to… send your way.” He wriggled his brows.

Pixie groaned again. If she didn’t think gagging would jeopardize her wish, she might have done that, too.

“We’re embarrassing Pix.” Mrs. Claus giggled. “Male or female?”

“A man, I believe.” Santa tapped the keys on his computer. “Looks like a Nitro Hicks. What a name… Nitro? You’ve got a thing for a guy named Nitro?”

“Why don’t you check on the run of tricycles?” Mrs. Claus stood. “They’ve been a little slow down there.”

Santa’s shoulders dropped. “Fine.” He climbed out of his chair. “But I’ll remember this later.”

“You’d better.” Mrs. Claus took his vacated seat and waited until he left the room to speak. “You and Nitro, aka Nolan Hicks. Hot and heavy? Spit it out with all the details.”

Pixie always had liked Mrs. Claus’s no-nonsense style. “It’s like this. We met at the concert, but I’m shy. He spoke first and made me feel like I belonged there. We talked, laughed, and shared some secrets. I mentioned I might want something more than what I have here in the North Pole. He drove me to the airport. We kissed, talked, and had to go our separate ways. Thrilling.”

“He’s easy on the eyes, I’ll agree, and if he kisses the way he looks then, yes, it was probably thrilling. What did he say when he found out about the elf thing?”

“Cleveland was cold like the North Pole. He could dig the chill.”

“Cute on all accounts.”

“We’ve chatted and Skyped since the concert. Lots of times.” She wasn’t about to admit to how hot the chat sessions got. “I’m scared I’m really putting myself out there, but I have to give it a chance.”

Mrs. Claus clicked the mouse and fiddled on the computer. “I can tell you this much. Your Casanova has been on the naughty list since he was two. He’s a pistol.”

Bert swatted Oliver’s rump hard. The sound echoed in the room. “I can’t wait to bury myself in it.”

“Then stop talking and do it.” He loved to tease Bert in bed. Besides, he couldn’t wait, either.

“I will.” Bet climbed onto the bed behind Oliver and straddled Oliver’s legs. He rained kisses all over Oliver’s back. Soft, sweet kisses that turned into nips and bites.

Oliver shivered and almost said, no marks, but this was a dream. Who gave a fuck if Bert left a hickey on his skin? He wanted proof he belonged to Bert and wanted that proof all over his body.

Bert stretched out along Oliver’s back and spoke in Oliver’s ear. “Ready?”

“Uh-huh. Beyond ready.” Oliver panted and tried his best to relax. Having Bert inside of him brought every sense to life and made every nerve ending tingle.

Bert slid one of his fingers between Oliver’s ass cheeks. Fire licked Oliver from within. He breathed in the scent of Bert’s cologne and savored the sound of his lover’s voice.

Passion for Bert bubbled within his heart. He needed this more than he needed his next breath.

“You’ll get it all at Gerry’s Outlet Mall,” a voice sang.

What the hell? Who said that? When Oliver glanced over his shoulder, Bert wasn’t there. The pressure on his backside had dissipated.

“Bert?” He whipped over and sat up on the bed. “Bert?” Where was his lover?

No answer. No sign Bert had even been there. No clothes on the floor or closet doors open. Nothing. He was just there…

“The finest in gold watches and silver chain…only at Gerry’s,” the voice said again. This time Oliver noticed the music.

Oliver opened his eyes. He recognized the voice—the announcer on the radio. He scrubbed both hands over his face. When he’d set his phone alarm, he must’ve also set the clock radio one without thinking about it. He swatted the clock beside the bed and groaned. So much for the dream.

He stared at the ceiling and sighed. Bert might not be there right now, but he’d be home that night. Maybe he could convince Bert to leave the party early so they could have more private time together. If things worked out, he’d be able to experience what he’d dreamed of in person. He chuckled. The perfect end to the dream was both of them coming. He could do that. Once Bert got home, he’d give his lover the best Christmas present ever—a white-hot orgasm.

Drew added some details to his drawing and frowned. The woman in the sketch had begun to take on the features of the elusive female from down the hallway in his decoy apartment building. The soft-spoken brunette with the sparkling ice-blue eyes. The girl who lugged the enormous art portfolio down to the parking lot each morning. The one whose smile warmed his heart on the coldest evenings. The one woman he wanted to get to know better, preferably naked…and she had no idea.

He ground his teeth together. With this new undercover operation, any meeting with the sweet-natured female was out of the question. At least, not under the pretence of the truth.

“Is she your new girlfriend?”

Drew crinkled his brows. “No. I can’t get with her.” vJames elbowed Drew’s ribs. “Why the hell not? If she’s as hot as your scribble there, then you’d better hit that.”

Drew shook his head. “I can’t get involved while undercover. You know the rules as well as I do. Plus, if Carlie found out she’d kill me.”

James slapped the pad on the wooden desk. “Bullshit. She walked away from you to screw around with Troy Balleswicz over in Vice. She doesn’t deserve your second chances. So what’s this chick’s name?”

Drew tossed his pen onto his own graffiti-decorated desk. “You’re right. I don’t owe Carlie anything, but Wallace put her in the Silver Steel as one of the dancers-Gold Dust Woman, if I’m not mistaken. If I get the security detail, then I gotta work with her. She’ll make life hell for any other female in my life. I don’t need that kind of crap right now.”

James folded his arms. “You didn’t answer my question. What’s Scribble’s real name?”

“I’m not sure what her real name is. They have stage names.” Drew raked his fingers through his hair. “I still haven’t worked up the nerve to speak to her. She’s quiet and always on the move. I can’t pin her down unless she’s at the club and I don’t want to spook her by coming off as a pervert or another guy wanting to cop a quick feel.” He averted his gaze from Mateo. “Trust me… If I could, I would ask this girl for a private dance.”

Lieutenant Frank Wallace strolled into the room with retired Detective Ross Malsam in tow. James dug his elbow into Drew’s ribs again. “When this is all over, you got a month of vacation time coming. Why not hunt her down and tag that?”

“How about I just pass the audition, huh?”

He spotted the women at the table and pasted on his most wicked smile. His voice caught in his throat and a ripple of excitement ran the length of his spine at the sight of his audience. The writer? Was she really there? Or did she moonlight as a screenwriter? Maybe a friend of the producers? Oh, my, my, my.

Nikita gestured to the table. “I’d like to introduce the heads of this production. This is Maggie Bowles, our associate producer.” She shrugged a shoulder to the woman on the right. “And this is the writer, Cass Jensen.”

Logan forced a nod. Maggie had worked on Break and co-directed Maia, both mega box office hits. She had a reputation for fairness and impartiality with her actors and crew. But the other woman—oh man. He blinked. Cass Jensen penned Wrong Turn, Slingshot and toyed with his fantasies from the safety of a black and white photo. Crossbeam Studios had translated three of her earlier novels into box office hits. Now she sat across the room, in living color and completely unaware of his innermost desires.

Had the heat just kicked on? He licked his lips. Something had happened and not just between his legs.

It seemed as if everyone else in the cavernous conference room had evaporated except him and Cass. She wasn’t his normal blonde model-type, quite the opposite. She had curves and porcelain skin. Her dark chocolate-colored hair glittered slightly under the harsh glare of the fluorescent lighting, and she brushed the silky strands off her face, revealing her lack of a wedding ring.

Score!

Her mouth curled into a faint smile, accompanying the sparkle in her startling blue-gray eyes. Color rushed into her pale cheeks.

Oh man.

Logan’s eyes slipped greedily over her body. Would she flush during sex? The light scent of her perfume muddled his brain. Lilac? Rose? Whatever it was, it was enticing. Logan swallowed hard. Tightness invaded his chest. Such a rapid reaction to a woman knocked him for a complete loop. Cass was the kind of woman who ended up being a cherished lover, not a plaything. He glanced at her once more. His throat went dry. Damn, if she blushed too much longer, he’d be in trouble. If he got time alone with her, he’d be a goner. How would her hands feel gliding along his body? Heaven, probably.

This week’s words are : ally, fool, pool, revenge, tense. I’m going to go back to the saga of Willie and Molly. #findmolly

Maybe he was a fool, but he’d thought he had an ally in her sister. Now he couldn’t get answers from her. What the hell did she want? Revenge? He’d never even looked at Molly’s sister. The moment he saw Molly, he’d fallen in love. Molly was the only one who mattered.

He flexed his hands on the steering wheel. Driving so long made his hands tense. But he had to find Molly. He glanced over at his phone and reread the address listed. The city pool? What in the hell was she doing at the pool? Was she even there or was this another dead end?

He parked in the lot and made his way through the fog to the chain-link fence. He pushed aside the broken piece of fence and entered the property. Trespassing? Yes, but he had to find his wife. He inched up to the empty pool. The city drained the massive hole every October and it was already the 27th of the month.

He made his way across the sidewalk to the empty pool. His heart lodged in his throat and he slid his hand over his pistol. If she was there, then he’d rescue her, but he’d also shoot anyone else. He crept up to the edge of the pool and sucked in a ragged breath.

A rumpled form had been dumped in the deep end of the empty pool. He noticed a lock of dark hair.

Molly.

EXCERPT:

Josh plopped down on the bar stool and studied his old friend. The man modeled efficiency. In ten minutes’ time, he cleared the tables, soaked glasses in water, and shut neon lights off. He still embodied the free spirit Josh had been in school. The red tips brought out the hazel in Sam’s eyes, and the guyliner accentuated the planes of his angular face. He even kind of liked the piercing below Sam’s bottom lip. What would it feel like if they kissed?

Heaven, more than likely. He’d wanted to tackle his former best friend for a quickie so many times, but never had. Somehow the line “we’re better as friends,” didn’t wash now, any more than it had back then. And who was this Ziggy? He didn’t remember his friend calling his junk by a name, but what did he know? Things changed with time. Maybe now he did and maybe he’d finally gone after his calling. A couple months earlier, he’d posted on Facebook about the club he still wanted to start for the LGBT youth in the area. Had he started the club yet? God knew he could use his past to help others.

“I need to wipe the tables down, then sweep.” Sam grabbed the broom and headed for the far side of the room. The chains on his pants swung in time with his steps. In the garish light, the red in his hair stood out even more but didn’t detract from the light in his eyes. Hell, he preferred him with the unusual hair color.

He mused on their collective past. Sam had worked the thin-and-nerdy look in college, but he’d grown gaunt. Dark scruff decorated his thin cheeks and sprinkled down his neck. His shoulders slumped more, and he didn’t make eye contact as much.

Looks didn’t matter. He’d always had a crush on his friend. In school, he’d sworn he wouldn’t act on the feelings because they got along too well. They’d ruin the friendship with sex. Too bad his heart had never forgotten his former roommate.

Sam stopped running and wiped the sweat glistening on his brow. “I forgot how much work there is when Jen and Clay aren’t here.”

“Then let me do some.” Josh grabbed his hand. “Come here.”

Check out the other posts and add your own. Meanwhile, this week’s post concerns the saddest book I’ve ever read.

I had to think about this one and came up with three.

The first one to come to mind was She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb. I remember feeling so distraught for the main character and overwhelmed by the situations she gets into. My heart hurt for her because she’d been hurt. I can tell you I never read the book again.

The second one that comes to mind is Charlotte’s Web. This is a cherished children’s book, but for me, it was devastatingly sad. I truly worried through this book about what would happen to the mail players and when I read it the first time, I had the luxury of not knowing what would happen. I love the book, but I can’t read it again. I haven’t seen the movie, but I did like the songs in the story. Still, it was too depressing at the end for me.

The one book that truly devastated me and wrecked me from ever reading it again is Where the Red Fern Grows. I even have some anxiety about discussing it now. I watched the movie first – big mistake – when I was in the second grade. I don’t know about you, but I was traumatized by the fact that the dog died. I know the dog was protecting the boy. I get it. But…it traumatized me. I went home that day and cried. Everyone thought I was upset about school. Well, yeah. I was upset that dog died. We read the book when I was in the fourth grade and subsequently watched the movie. I refused to finish the book and knowing what would be coming in the movie, I took the failing grade on the assignment to read the book, then took myself down to the office in protest of watching the movie. Seriously. I would rather sit in the office than watch that movie.

Maybe it’s a good book to some, but to me, never again. Then again, I’m the one who will read a book, get to the point where the dog/cat/pet dies and close the book, not to be picked up again. I’m teased at book club because I’ve DNF-ed a book that has a dog/cat/pet dying. Sorry. Won’t do it.

What about you? What’s the saddest book you’ve ever read? I want to know, yet I don’t because I don’t know if I can take more depressing books right now. :/

Short EXCERPT:

“You bring out the bad girl in me. I forgot how much I liked it.”

If he shoved her panties to the side, she’d let him grope her there in the reception room. He resisted the urge to go too far and moved her dress to repair her modesty. “You’re good at being bad.” With the pads of his fingers, he stroked down the length of her leg and caressed her ankle. The crimson polish on her toes glittered in the fluorescent light. “You always did like bare feet.”

Her voice dropped to the husky purr he hadn’t heard in a long time. “My stilettos pinched my toes. Bare is more comfortable.”

“I’m glad you came back.” The old feelings welled in his brain, reminding him how he hadn’t stopped loving her. Ever. “You aren’t the same girl who walked out of here three years ago. Not really. I want to discover all the ways you’ve grown.”

“You’ve changed, too.” The husky tone of her voice trailed up his spine. Jenna traced the line of his lapel with her finger. “More poetic, less gruff. And you shaved.” For the first time since she’d set foot on the tarmac, she smiled. “I like the changes. They work on you.” She murmured in his ear, “I wouldn’t have stopped you if you kept going.”

But is she?

Tiger Lily wants both her masters, but she’s convinced they want a toy, not a full time sub. She decides to test them and makes them prove their devotion to her. It’s a risky game of swapped control, but if things work out the way she plans, they’ll all end up satisfied.

EXCERPT:

John crept into the massive room. Water splashed from the massive waterfall in the corner, and the sound of laughter from the mermaids filled the air. A couple of seahorse men chatted with the mermaids — no doubt trying to hook up. He scoped out the scene for his girl. If he were hurting and lost, where would he go?

After a moment, he spotted her. He’d know the light brown shift dress and gorgeous tanned legs anywhere. She perched on the plank sticking out of the side of the ship. Damn her lack of fear. He hated heights but rescuing her from the plank meant dealing with his fears. Screw it. She mattered too much.

John climbed the main ladder to the ship and crossed the main deck. He sat on the railing.

“My pet likes water play? Or to play with heights?” He forced himself to sound angry and relieved. She loved when he used his commanding voice. “I should punish you for running away.”

Her shoulder edged up in a tiny shrug, but she didn’t look at him. She kicked her feet, and the delicate bells around her ankle dinged.

“Excuse me? Is that how you address me?” He stood at his full height and cleared his voice. “Lily?”

She jerked around and glanced over her shoulder. “I’m sorry.” She stood, then crept past him. The blue and green beads in her hair sparkled in the light. “Sir? May I speak freely?”

“I expect you to.” He crooked his fingers under her chin. “Why did you do this?”

Lily sighed. “I wanted you to find me.”

“I did. Always will.”

“Will you, really?” Her dark eyes shone with unshed tears. “You left me for three weeks. No calls, texts, nothing. Then you trained another sub? Really? For what? To teach me a lesson?” She folded her arms and stomped past him to the staircase leading to the ground floor. “Maybe I don’t want you any longer.”

Okay, enough theatrics. John snagged her in his arms and carried her to the seclusion of the staircase. He stopped on the first landing and placed her on the overstuffed bench. “One person holds my heart. One. What I did with Michael to help out Tansy had nothing to do with how I feel about you. She asked for help with an unruly sub. We did, with no sexual contact with that sub.” He knelt before her. “You are within your rights to be upset with us. We should’ve said something to you, and I’m sorry we didn’t. What would you like us to do to make this up to you?”

“You should’ve, and I do have an idea.” She held her head high and a lock of her hair, bound in beads and braids, slipped over her shoulder. “Switched control. Are you willing?”
