I dunno… I saw these flowers and thought, these could be used as a story starter for a D/s story. Something like she shows up in nothing but those flowers. Yeah? One tucked behind her ear and nothing else on. What do you think? What makes you think of smutty?

The objective—keep her safe. No one said anything about falling in love.

All she wanted was a pint of ice cream, not to be a witness to a double murder. Good thing Emma’s got not one, but two, sexy men willing to keep her safe. As long as she can keep her hands to herself.

Sam’s mission? To find the man responsible for the murder. He’s not going to rest until the streets are safe, even if it means having his best friend guard his best girl. It’s the best option, right?

Quint never dreamed he’d be attracted to his best friend’s wife…and his best friend. He’s got to keep his hands to himself all while figuring out what he wants from life, even if love equals Emma and Sam in Quint’s bed.

Is love in the cards or are they going to go up in flames before they get started?

Six months of waiting in hiding hadn’t eased her mind. Living in the gated community helped, but if someone wanted her dead, it would happen. Gates and armed guards didn’t stand a chance against a machine gun or whatever served as Morales’ weapon of choice. He wanted her to keep quiet, no matter what.

No toys or quickies with Quint would erase her pain. “Catch him so it’s all over.” Emma blinked back tears of frustration. “I want my life back.”

She touched the picture of Sam on the counter. Her heart squeezed in her chest. He didn’t have to go to the lengths he’d gone to for her. I won’t risk losing you. She sighed. What if she lost him in the process?

“I miss him, too.” Quint placed his hand on hers.

Emma bumped shoulders with him and wiped her cheeks. “I know. I’m glad you’re here. I’d be stir crazy alone.”

“Won’t be long, now.” He kissed her temple. “Promise.”

The words failed to comfort her. “If I’m not safe in the Leatherwoods, I’m not safe anywhere. Do you hear that, Quint? I’m done.” She shoved the newspaper into the recycle bin and headed to the refrigerator. Emma withdrew a half-empty bottle of rose wine. “If I want to sip a glass of wine on my balcony, then by God, I should be able to.” She nodded to herself and poured a generous amount into a wine goblet. “You can watch for all I care. I want to have a normal life again.”

She balanced the wine glass in her fingers and picked up a lighter for the citronella candles and her book from the table. She shoved the lighter in her back pocket and stuck her book under her free arm. Emma crossed the room and stepped through the sliding doors. The potted pansies fluttered in the slight wind. She dropped the book on the lounger and left the wine glass on the ground beside the chair.

“Seems like a nice time to take in some afternoon sun.” Shielding her eyes with her hand, she glanced around at the neighboring terraces. For a humid late July afternoon, no one seemed to be home and that suited her fine. “Looks like we’re alone, anyway.”

“You try my patience,” Quint growled. He plopped down onto the balcony railing. “Anyone with a good shot could take your ass out right now. Why are you chancing it?”

“I’m not chancing anything with you standing there ready to take the bullet,” Emma snorted. Six months of having someone watching her managed to kill her modesty. Sure, time spent in her bedroom meant time alone. Anywhere else in the apartment gave Quint ample view of what she did. Most of the time his presence didn’t bother her. He was Sam’s best friend. They shared everything—except her. So she enjoyed strolling to the kitchenette every once in a while in the nude? Quint, being the consummate good guy with a foul mouth, never acted on impulse. Sam alluded to wanting a threesome with her and Quint. Based on Quint’s reactions, she doubted the event would happen—the talk needed to evolve into action.

Whatever.

“I’m going to immerse myself in a book.”

“I have a client who wants to take part in a ménage.” She let go of him, then perched on the edge of the console in front of him. “His name is James and he’s very receptive to me, but he wants more than just me.” Each breath accentuated the pull of the leather across her full breasts. Glitter shone on her upper chest and the tiny daisy dangled from the piercing in her navel. He longed to run his tongue over every inch of her body.

“I see.” Master G folded his arms. His heart leapt. In his fifteen years as a Dom at The Q, he rarely gave in to being a sub. He also hardly ever worked with another Dom on the same sub. The need for Mistress Dee continued to battle his inner need to dominate.

“This isn’t the first time he’s asked me.” She crossed her long legs and the patent leather on her boots shimmered in the light. “I’ve told him no before because I couldn’t find the right person to serve as that third. I’m very particular.” She flipped a lock of her ebony hair over her shoulder. “Now I know who I want. You.”

His heart lodged in his throat. There wasn’t a guarantee of something long-term—not that he wanted long-term—but she’d noticed him as more than just another guy at the club. He dipped his head once. “Tell me your conditions.”

“You’ll do what I ask and submit to me.” She stood, meeting him eye to eye. He studied the deep brown of her eyes. A man could lose himself in those eyes.  She pursed her crimson lips. “Think you can do that? No topping from the bottom.” She brushed her ample breasts over his chest enough to make his skin burn. He groaned when she flattened her hands on his pecs. “I’ll never humiliate you, but I expect complete submission.”

He hadn’t bottomed in a long time, but hell, the way she touched him, he wanted to crawl on the floor behind her. “Can’t do it forever,” he replied, “but I can do what you ask.”

“That’s what I need.” Mistress Dee gripped the leather criss-crossing his chest. Her nails scraped his sensitive skin. “You on your knees doing what I ask.”

“Then I will.” He sucked in a long breath, then dipped his head and exhaled. Dear God, he couldn’t wait for the encounter. “When, Mistress?”

Wrapping Up and Moving On with @MeganSlayer #writing #thinking #debating ~ cross-posted

I’ve been thinking long and hard about what I wanted to write for this post. An end of the year wrap-up? Maybe a memorial for things lost this year? A plan for 2017? Lots comes to mind.

In the last few days, a lot has happened. Christmas! Hanukkah! Let’s not forget those. The time of joy and giving. Watching the wonder on the faces of those who received a gift–be it an actual item or an act of generosity. I’ll cherish that.

Now, I know. There has been some sadness. The passing of legends, almost legends and those we just plain love. Trust me. My heart breaks for them. I’ve loved Gene Wilder since the movie Willie Wonka scared the crap out of (I was convinced if I ate the chocolate, I’d end up in the TV, too…and yet I still ate the chocolate.) So many people. So many creative fires dying out.

But there are always going to be new ones. New fires we don’t even realize are there. Maybe you and I are the fires of tomorrow. Who knows.

I’m sad about the closing of a few of my publishers, too. I don’t like to speak ill of the closed, but I can honestly say, I didn’t have bad feelings towards those who closed or even bad experiences. Would I like to have the endings gone differently? Sure. Who wouldn’t? But I can’t say the experiences weren’t without merit. Maybe that was me still eating that chocolate.

I saw the shuttering of a few businesses I never thought would (Borders, Fictionwise, ARe) and are now gone. Poof! Okay, so not all were lost in 2016, but you get the idea. This biz is nutsy.

Back to the chocolate, but I’m not giving up on my love of writing. I don’t know if I’ll ever become that author who hits all of the lists and my book title is on the lips of every reader in the world. That doesn’t mean I won’t try. It doesn’t mean I won’t keep telling the stories I’ve been doing so for the last… golly, I’ve been writing since 2007 and published since 2009. I’m not one of the longer running authors in the biz, but that chocolate still sure tastes good.

So what is my plan for the next year? To keep writing. I’ve got books in the pipeline with multiple houses and fun things planned for the year. I’m not quitting. Not by a long shot and not when I still love the chocolate. Maybe one day I will be shrunken and land on the TV. Maybe not. Either way, I’m still going to keep slogging it out with the boys from Cedarwood, the shifters in the Sanctuary, the Battle Scarred paranormals and my Seeing Me male models. Why not? I get to play with male models in the morning, argue with everyday guys in Cedarwood in the afternoon, then wrestle with lion shifters at night. Sounds like a good gig to me.

What about you? What are your plans for 2017? Anything special? You know where I’ll be. Writing, reading and enjoying the ride.

Want something to warm up your winter? Try Reconnecting Christmas! Male models, a little angst and a happy ending (you didn’t think I’d keep the happy ending to myself, did you? *G*)

Sam grabbed her ankle. He always thought she looked sexy, but seeing her lose her inhibitions and embrace his suggestion made her a goddess in his eyes. “My bad girl has lots of secrets, eh?” With her now on her stomach, he tugged her to the edge of the bed. “How many spanks will it take to make you scream my name?” He flattened his hand on her bottom. “One? Two?” He swatted her twice, leaving a rosy handprint on her pale skin. “Three?”

“Thank you, Sam.” Emma wriggled her ass. She peeked over her shoulder and moaned. “More. Make me burn.”

He knelt over her. “Always, my love.” His cock rubbed between her thighs, sending a tremor through his body. God, he needed the release—needed her and Quint so much. “Four it is.” He spanked her four more times, thrilled when she squealed and arched into him.

“I want you,” she whispered. “Sam, I need you.”
