“I’d drive forever to see Depeche Mode in concert,” Brandon said. “Seriously, forever.”

“Depeche Mode?” Aydin sighed. He loved Brandon, even if he didn’t share Brandon’s taste in music. “If you drive forever, you’d never see them. You’d be driving.”

“You knew what I meant.” Brandon stuck out his tongue. “I’m going to sit on that website until the tickets go live.”

“The radio station’s been promoting the concert pretty heavy all week. What if you don’t get the tickets?” All Brandon had talked about was getting into the concert. He had no real plan other than to hope he’d be quicker than everyone else trying to get tickets. The concert hadn’t been announced until three weeks before the event. The tickets weren’t going on sale until two weeks prior to the concert. “You might not get on the site, let alone nab those elusive tickets. Everyone wants to see the band.”

“I’m thinking positive.” Brandon grinned. “My parents or sister might be able to help. Chris knows people.”

“He’s only got a part-time job reading the news at the radio station. He’s kind of low in seniority.” But Chris, Brandon’s brother-in-law, did know people in the music business and could help.

“So? They owe me.” Brandon fluttered his hand. “My birthday’s coming up.”

“I know.” Aydin plunged the last plate into the soapy water. He’d been with Brandon since the beginning of the year. He hadn’t thought he had a chance with Brandon. His boyfriend was so flamboyant and loud. Brandon knew everyone. He wore makeup and colored his hair according to his mood. How he’d ever noticed Aydin was beyond Aydin’s understanding. He was plain, quiet and nothing like Brandon, but they worked as a couple. Opposites attracted. He washed the plate and tried to ignore Brandon’s whining.

“I’m dying here. Do you know how it feels to need to see the band that’s been the soundtrack to your life? How it feels to not get to see them live? It’s killing me,” Brandon said. “Killing me.”

“Aren’t you being overly dramatic?” Aydin asked. He rinsed the plate. “Your entire life? You listened to Depeche Mode at age three?”

“You knew what I meant.”

“I did.” He dried his hands, then wrapped his arms around Brandon. “Don’t freak out about not getting those tickets until you don’t have them.” He paused. “Oh, and I know how it feels never to see my favorites live. I’ll never see Glenn Miller’s orchestra, Judy Garland, or George Michael since they’re all dead. I never saw any of them on stage, but I’m still breathing.”

Brandon frowned.

“Can’t argue, can you?” He kissed Brandon. “I know what you mean about the band, though.” He had to smooth it over. Brandon hated to lose arguments or be discounted. Aydin let go of him. “I do understand, though. You’ve had music at each of your gallery shows, and most of the songs are Depeche Mode. I listen to you working to music.” He was more of a showtune kind of guy, but he appreciated Brandon’s taste. “You go with what you like best.”

“Then you know why I have to be there. My creative spirit depends on this concert,” Brandon said. He dried the first plate. “I need it.”

Aydin rolled his eyes and resumed washing the rest of the dishes. “Careful. If you get any more dramatic, people will think you’re auditioning for a film role or a play over at the theater.” He bumped shoulders with Brandon. “Thanks for helping me finish these.”

Brandon sighed, drawing the noise out. “I’ve got to see that band.”

“I know.”

“I need a plan.”

“You do.” He wouldn’t argue. Brandon was too driven.

Brandon snapped his fingers. “I’ll get your computer and mine going at the same time, and whichever one gets onto the site, plus to the ticket page first, that’s the one I’ll use.”

“Whatever works.”

“Aydin.”

He rolled his shoulders to crack his spine. “What?”

“I wish you understood. Glenn Miller and Judy Garland have been dead for years. You’d never be able to see them. You don’t get how important this is,” Brandon said.

“I do understand.” Why wasn’t Brandon letting this go? “You love them. You want to see them. Do it. I don’t care.”

“You’re making light of this,” Brandon said. “For me, it’s do or die.”

“No, it’s not. You won’t drop dead if you miss the concert.” He finished washing the dishes and drained the water. “But I do get the importance. What I meant with the ‘whatever works’ comment was, do whatever you have to do in order to get those tickets–as long as it’s not illegal. I’ll help you and won’t get in the way.”

“Now, have you been good this year?”

“I’ve done the best with what I’ve got,” Jagger answered. He wasn’t kidding. He liked sex. He liked to mingle. There might have been an occasion or two where he’d had a few too many and gone home with a guy only to have the relationship last as long as the blow job, but who was honestly a total angel?

“I see. I’ll have to keep my eye on you.” Santa shifted in his seat. “What would you like for Christmas?”

“An angel.”

“A what? A porcelain one?”

“No, no. Like the old song. An angel sent to me.” He’d loved that Shelly Fabares song so much. So the tune was hokey and the words were dated…he didn’t care.

“Ah. What do you want her to look like?” Santa asked.

Oh boy. Jagger fought the urge to roll his eyes. “I’d like him to be at least six feet tall. Brown hair. Shaggy hair, like just rolled out of bed shaggy. Blue eyes. Nice smile. Not a ton of chest hair. Great personality. Oh, and I want him to be the boyfriend type.” That about summed up what he’d wanted.

“You’re thorough.” Santa rubbed his chin. “That’s a tall order, pardon the pun.”

“I know. I figure you’re my last hope. I’ve tried meeting guys on my own. Tried the dating scene, the website thing, and the set up by friends thing. None of it has worked. If you can’t, then I’m hopeless, and December will forever suck.”

“Aren’t you positive?” Santa paused. His dark eyes glittered. “Does his name have to be Johnny?”

“Nope.”

“If you have this man come to you, you’ll enjoy the holiday?” Santa asked.

“I will.” Granted, he wanted the man to stick around and be more than short term, but love wasn’t going to happen overnight.

“Well, I’ll see what can be done. You’re cutting it mighty close.”

“Don’t I know it.”

He gritted his teeth. How fucked up was that? A girlfriend who knew damn well what he was, two little girls who lit up his life and a best friend he wanted to fuck. Christ. He should just come all the way out of the closet already. Not like everyone hadn’t figured him out. But living in the military under the fucking ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ rule screwed with his head. Keep your sexuality under the radar, even if you want to fuck your best friend senseless.

The bus jerked to a stop and the cheers rang out from the people in the lot. Names were shouted. Not his. Hunter massaged his temple. Hell, he didn’t even see Shelly among the people. She’d be there. Right? She’d always stood beside him. Thick, thin and everything else.

So had Ryder.

Hunter scooped his bag up from the seat. He slung the heavy strap over his shoulder and followed his fellow airmen down the center aisle of the bus. As each man descended the stairs, various family and friends raced to them. When Hunter strode off the bus, a couple of women from the air traffic control tower, where he worked when he wasn’t deployed, opened their arms to him. He hugged them, but continued to look for Shelly or Ryder. He opened his mouth to question his co-workers, when they disengaged from him.

“There’s my guy.”

Hunter knew that voice. Ryder. A shiver shot up his spine. He turned his attention in the direction of Ryder’s voice and drank in the details of his best friend. At five feet, seven inches tall, Ryder wasn’t the biggest guy, but his heart made up for his lack of physical stature. He embodied the computer geek, complete with shaggy blond hair in a perpetual straight-out-of-bed look. His T-shirt emblazoned with a comic book character stretched across his chest and defined each muscle of his torso.

Hunter’s cock thickened behind his zipper. His mouth watered. Ryder was the guy Hunter had always wanted to be. Ryder went for what he wanted. He tried everything at least once and always smiled. Nothing seemed to bother him.

Enjoy the following excerpt for EVERYTHING HE WANTS:

Jeremy sat in the back seat of the cab and swayed forward as it came to a quick stop opposite Club Ramrod. What a crazy name for a club. Then again, what a crazy place to meet his date. He checked the messages on his phone one more time. Sure enough, the same email from Madame Eve popped up.

Your date awaits you at Club Ramrod, located next to the Mason Players Club Hotel. Look for yellow by the bar and you will find your heart’s delight. Tell the bouncer Eve sent you.

He sighed and paid the driver with a shaky hand. His mind wouldn’t stop racing. What the hell did I get myself into? Sure, the club scene worked for him, but he hated the grind. Hated the clawing bodies and hangers-on. Crossing the street, he took his place in line. Maybe no one would recognize him. Finally reaching the club entrance, he dropped Madame Eve’s name to the bouncer.

The hulking man nodded and shuffled him to the bar. “Don’t cause a fight.”

Don’t cause a fight? Did he look like the type to cause trouble? Well, I did change my hair from green to blue tips. Jeremy snorted. Whatever. He scanned the crowd in the massive black and white bar. Men talked and laughed, some cuddled each other or sat on each other’s laps. At the far end, he spotted a flash of yellow. His heart pounded faster and his mouth went bone-dry.

“No way,” he murmured, nibbling on his lip piercing.

Trace Robeson, the man who featured in every one of his naughty fantasies, clutched a beer and hooked his thumb in his jeans front pocket. The man oozed classy sex. A faded T-shirt cradled his body like a second skin, giving teasing glimpses at the chiseled flesh underneath. His ripped jeans cupped and outlined his package and showed off his natural tan to a T.

Jeremy wobbled on his feet and thanked the gods, or Madame Eve, or whoever, for granting him his wish, and strode across the club. Making eye contact with Trace, he grinned.

“Hey, man. Good seeing you here.” Trace offered his hand.

“Yeah. It’s nice to see a friendly face.” Jeremy gestured the bartender for a beer. “I’m here to meet my destiny.”

“Are you….” Trace didn’t finish.

“Your date?” Jeremy replied. “I’m looking for a man in yellow. Don’t see too many others rocking that color, so….” Christ, he sounded so lame.

“I was told my date would find me.” Trace matched his smile. “Want to dance?”

Matt locked up before he climbed behind the wheel of the car again. He loved living in a small town. Everything was close enough that he could either drive or walk to most places. Tonight, though, he was too tired to walk to the park. He gripped the steering wheel. Jesus. He’d reverted to talking to his dog like a best friend. He needed to get out more. Oh, well. At least the dog is loyal.

He drove to the dog park and tried to calm his mind. The men he knew weren’t loyal. Since he’d split from Colin, he hadn’t found a decent guy who wouldn’t cheat. First, Scott had come along with his wandering eyes, then Tom had followed suit. Tom had felt the need to spread himself around. Maybe Matt had been too choosy? Maybe he wasn’t pushy enough? Maybe he’d set himself up for failure? No one understood him the way Colin had. Would anyone else?

Matt parked in the lot. He had to face his ex. Even if Colin wasn’t there, eventually, he’d have to see him again. He might as well brace himself. He clicked Willie’s leash on his collar, then led him over to the fenced-in area. Once inside the park, he let Willie run. His head hurt. He hated being lonely, but he wasn’t ready to open his heart—not again.

Willie darted by with a white puff. Matt recognized the two pink bows in the dog’s fur. “Judy?” Damn it. He’d hoped that by running late, he’d miss Colin.

“Hi, you.” Colin strode up to Matt. “Seems those two have a radar set for each other.”

“Yeah.” He tensed. Seeing Colin brought up too many tough memories and too much hurt. He’d have to resign himself to being around his ex and his heart being broken each time.

“I brought you coffee.” Colin held up a paper cup. “I thought you might like a drink.”

He tossed the ball for Willie, then turned to Colin. “Thanks, I think.” He didn’t take the cup. “Won’t Mason be upset with you? Bringing me coffee…that’s awfully chummy.”

“No.” Colin offered the cup again. “Here. Take it.”

He complied but glanced about. “Where is Mason?”

“Probably at work.” Colin tipped his head. “I don’t care where he is. He’s not my problem.”

“What?” He knew Colin better than he’d thought and this wasn’t Colin. His ex wasn’t a cheater. “Do you and Mason have an open relationship?”

“Wow,” Colin said. “I didn’t expect you to ask that.”

“Why not? If I were your…person…and you brought coffee to your ex while I knew nothing, I’d be hurt. Won’t Mason be upset?” Matt asked.

“I don’t doubt he’ll be mad.” Colin stepped in close to Matt. “He hates your fucking guts.” His eyes flashed. “For real.”

Matt bit back a groan. He’d guessed Mason wasn’t his biggest fan, but to hate his guts? Lovely. Yet, here was Colin, close to him and grinning. No wonder Mason wasn’t thrilled. He didn’t have a rein on Colin. Matt hated himself. The closer Colin got, the more he wanted to kiss him. Now isn’t that fucked up?

EXCERPT:

Josh plopped down on the bar stool and studied his old friend. The man modeled efficiency. In ten minutes’ time, he cleared the tables, soaked glasses in water, and shut neon lights off. He still embodied the free spirit Josh had been in school. The red tips brought out the hazel in Sam’s eyes, and the guyliner accentuated the planes of his angular face. He even kind of liked the piercing below Sam’s bottom lip. What would it feel like if they kissed?

Heaven, more than likely. He’d wanted to tackle his former best friend for a quickie so many times, but never had. Somehow the line “we’re better as friends,” didn’t wash now, any more than it had back then. And who was this Ziggy? He didn’t remember his friend calling his junk by a name, but what did he know? Things changed with time. Maybe now he did and maybe he’d finally gone after his calling. A couple months earlier, he’d posted on Facebook about the club he still wanted to start for the LGBT youth in the area. Had he started the club yet? God knew he could use his past to help others.

“I need to wipe the tables down, then sweep.” Sam grabbed the broom and headed for the far side of the room. The chains on his pants swung in time with his steps. In the garish light, the red in his hair stood out even more but didn’t detract from the light in his eyes. Hell, he preferred him with the unusual hair color.

He mused on their collective past. Sam had worked the thin-and-nerdy look in college, but he’d grown gaunt. Dark scruff decorated his thin cheeks and sprinkled down his neck. His shoulders slumped more, and he didn’t make eye contact as much.

Looks didn’t matter. He’d always had a crush on his friend. In school, he’d sworn he wouldn’t act on the feelings because they got along too well. They’d ruin the friendship with sex. Too bad his heart had never forgotten his former roommate.

Sam stopped running and wiped the sweat glistening on his brow. “I forgot how much work there is when Jen and Clay aren’t here.”

“Then let me do some.” Josh grabbed his hand. “Come here.”
