Favorite things to do in the autumn. Wow. I’d almost forgotten it turned into autumn last night. Felt like it. It’s been cold here at night for the last few nights. I’m more of a chilly weather gal. So this suits me just fine. Not COLD weather. Just chilly.

One of my favorite autumn things is to get to pull those sweatshirts and hoodies from my drawer and wear them. I love being snuggly and warm. I’m down a size in sweatshirts, so most of mine are all too big and I could swim in them, but that’s okay. I’ll take it.

Another thing I like about autumn is that it’s cross country weather. I love to watch the tot run and cheer him on. I didn’t think he’d do a sport since he’s not as coordinated as he could be. Running and cross country works for him. He says, no track because it’s running in circles and he’d rather run courses. Whatever makes him happy. But I love going to the different courses and trying to learn the trails where he’ll run so we can cheer him on.

I also love to dress my dog up for the occasion. Yes. I dress the dog in sweaters and costumes. Why? She gets cold, for one. For another, she’s adorable in her little skirts. She’s a beagle basset, so she’s not a small dog. She’s got a particular favorite sweater that makes her look like an Ewok. I don’t have pictures because you’d never see her. When I try to photograph her, she’s a blur. Why? She’s 4 and still very much a puppy.

The last, but not least or honestly last, of the things I like to do in the fall would be the pumpkin pie blizzards at Dairy Queen. Most of our ice cream joints don’t stay open beyond about Sept 27th, but our Dairy Queen does, so I can get ice cream there. Plus, the dilly bars are my favorite kind of birthday cake. I don’t do cake, but dilly bars? I’m in! And my favorite blizzard has to be the pumpkin pie one.

What about you? What’s your favorite thing about autumn? I haven’t even gotten into my love of Halloween and black cats. šŸ™‚ Plus, autumn means reading and books. Can’t finish this post without books.

While you’re here and because it’s an autumn themed story, check out Harvest Moon!

What’s a guy to do when the time to be with family is the time he dreads the most?

All Matt Green wants for Thanksgiving is to propose to his boyfriend in the most epic way he knows-in front of their families. There’s only one catch. His boyfriend, Reed Jordan, doesn’t do family gatherings. To be honest, Reed isn’t wild about Thanksgiving, but he won’t say why.

Matt’s willing to do anything in order to get Reed to talk, but will it make the holiday perfect or or ruin all of Matt’s plans? The Harvest Moon just might be the right omen to make everything all right.

  1. Actually DQ is low-fat and mostly frozen ice milk. I think they do make non-dairy alternatives, but not sure where they’re available. And yeah, I’m about done with my summer clothing, most of which I didn’t get to wear, since I’ve been house-bound since March! Almost time to bring out the container of cold weather sweaters and boots, and put the swimsuits and shorts away for the year.
