Wednesday Blogging Challenge 3/6/2019 @MeganSlayer #longandshortreviews #blogging #hobby #hobbies #art #reading

Look for the other posts right here:Β  and

This week is about my favorite hobby and why it’s my favorite. I have a couple of favorites. First has to be reading. I love to read. Most of the stuff I read for fun isn’t romance, either. I love to read rock biographies and old Hollywood biographies. I like to learn stuff. Right now, I’m reading Dear Martin.

Another thing I like to do is volunteer with my Friends of the Library group. This might not seem like a hobby, but it is. We do lots of things within the group and those are hobby kind of things–like creating artwork for the group, artwork for our author events, sorting books, talking about books. I love it.

I love to draw, too. I haven’t drawn in a while so I don’t have any artwork to show off right now, but I love it. That’s what I got my degree in–art.Β

What about you? What are your hobbies? What’s your favorite? I’d love to know. Be sure to check out the other posts while you’re at it. I know I will be.

  1. I didn’t know you were an artist. Neat! What kinds of stuff do you draw? e.g. animals? nature scenes? people? abstract objects?

I’m not artistically gifted, but I adore looking at art and trying to figure out what the creator was intending to say with it. About once or twice a year I drag my husband to an art gallery and look at all of the beautiful works there. (Mostly joking here. He has found a few types of art he likes, but it’s not something he’d do on his own.)

That Friends of the Library group sounds great, too. I’d bet you meet all sorts of interesting folks there. πŸ™‚

    My post.

  2. What interesting hobbies you have. I have always wished I could draw but seem to be too awkward. I am also a child of the 60’s (who ever thought so many years could go by so fast) and I’m an old retired librarian. The Friends of the Library have helped libraries in more ways than we could name here in a comment so…good blog and thank you for helping the libraries.

Here’s my hobbies, we do have something in common:

  3. My kid wanted to get a degree in art, but didn’t think she’d be able to support herself with that, so she’s compromising and getting a degree in graphic design. Still, her favorite classes in college so far have been drawing and painting. I have a lot of respect for folks who can “art” well.

  4. Ah, I’m so jealous of your ability to draw! Not something I’ve ever been able to do. Great hobbies though, I love having a variety of activities to choose from.

    My post
