It’s not Monday, but I’ve got thoughts on movies for the week. This past weekend, I didn’t watch any movies. I didn’t! I was on vacation. But, I did watch a few over the week. So…here goes.
Hail Caesar! featuring George Clooney, Channing Tatum and Josh Brolin ~ I liked the twists and turns in this movie. It’s amusing and smart. I also loved the way Tatum did the dance number. By the way, I didn’t figure out the ending until BOOM the ending was there. Worth the watch.
The Words featuring Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana ~ I truly thought Saldana was unused in this movie. She’s a fantastic actress, but the plot was so confusing that I thought she could’ve shined more. This movie was confusing with the multiple plot lines, but also gut-wrenching because I felt Cooper’s disgust with himself. I have to say it was hard to follow at times and I walked away more than a few times during the viewing. I had to watch it twice and that was somewhat cumbersome. Still, if you’re interested in something complicated, then this might be for you.
Christmas Land featuring Nikki Deloach, Luke Macfarlane and Maureen McCormick ~ this was cute. It wasn’t a huge head-scratcher or super cerebral. Just cute. I liked the characters to a degree and thought Tucker (Macfarlane) was definite eye candy. But the thing I didn’t understand was when the boyfriend kept badmouthing Tucker. Okay, so the guy had some yokel to him. Who doesn’t? That said, it was never really explained why the boyfriend and Tucker couldn’t get along. Maybe there was some deep fight they had. Or maybe they chased the same chick. Something… Anyway, it was cute. Just cute.
Got anymore suggestions? I’m all ears!! Hopefully, I get to watch Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and I Saw the Light this weekend. 🙂
