Now this is a hop about Blooms. I’m not much of a gardener. I tend to kill more plants than I grow. Why? I forget to water plants. That’s where I’m a horrible plant parent. So what tips on gardening do I possibly have? Remember to water the plants, that’s for sure. Keep an eye on them. When they look droopy and the soil’s dry, then water it is. If its soupy, then probably not time to water. Time to dry it out a little. That’s what I’ve learned. Not much of a tip, but then it’s better than having soggy plants or crispy ones.

Thought I’d also include a recipe. Why not?

My recipe for Pizza Dough!

1 cup hot water

1 packet of yeast

1 tablespoon of honey

1 tablespoon of oil

Pinch of salt

Heat water and add to large bowl. Add honey, oil, salt and yeast. Stir to activate the yeast and wait until it froths – about 5 minutes.

Once frothy, add 2 cups of flour gradually. Once combined, knead dough until smooth.

Place kneaded dough into a oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Place in warm area and let rise – approximately 2 hours.

After allowing the dough to rise, flatten on pizza pan. Prick with fork and bake approx 15 minutes at 425-450 degrees. After the initial 15 minute bake, add sauce, toppings and whatever you enjoy on your pizza, save for the cheese. Add cheese after 10 minutes and watch until fully melted. Enjoy!!

Since you’ve stopped by, here’s a little about my latest release, Wild Card. This is a story close to my heart. I hope you enjoy the book, too.

  1. I enjoy baking and gardening so I have lots of favorite recipes 🙂
I’ll share a spring like cake that is especially good in May when you can get fresh strawberries.
    Simply Delicious Strawberry Cake
    1 pkg. White cake mix
    1 pkg. Strawberry gelatin ( 3oz.)
    1 c. Water
    1\2 c. Canola oil
    4 eggs
    1\2 c. Mashed unsweetened strawberries
1.) In large bowl mix cake mix, gelatin powder, water, and oil.
2.) Beat on low speed for 1minute or until moistened; beat on medium 4 minutes.
3.) In a small bowl with clean beaters, beat egg whites on high speed until stiff peaks form. Foldegg whites and mashed strawberries intocake batter.
4.)Pour into greased and flouredpan. Bakeat 350* for 20-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Top with whipped cream and slice, freash strawberries

  2. I love the entire Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. I can’t choose just one. lol. Thank you!

  3. Favorite frosting:

One ounce unsweetened chocolate, chopped (I use Baker’s)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. hot water
    2 T. cornstarch
    1/4-1/2 t. salt.

Mix together in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until as thick as you want it. I cook until there’s a clear trail after the whisk or fork when I stir (also good as a thinner glaze). Remove from heat and add 2 T. butter or margarine and 1 t. vanilla. Stir until combined and frost cooled cake. Good for a bundt cake or 13×9″ for two layers or 24 cupcakes I’d probably make a batch and a half.

When trying to cut fat, I have left out the butter, but it mellows the flavor and makes the frosting glossier.

  4. Well I just tried a new recipe yesterday and it was so good!!
I got thin cut chicken breast and put melted cream cheese/ mozzarella cheese on one side. I folded it to make it like a sandwich. After this I dipped it in a mixture of whole wheat flour, garlic powder, pink Himalayan salt and pepper. And the last step was to dip it into my hot sauce mixture which was hot sauce, milk, ranch and butter.
I put them into a glass baking dish and baked that 375 for 53 minutes
THEY WERE SO GOOD!!! My hubby request I make them at least once every other week 🙂

  5. My husband set up a drip irrigation watering system on my porch. It’s set on a timer so the plants get watered twice a day for 10 minutes all summer long. Brilliant! We never forget to water and we can go on vacation without worrying we’ll come back to dead plants:-)

  6. I’m not much of a gardener, either. I favorite book it anything by Nora Roberts.

And can I just say I’m so happy to find someone else who makes their own pizza dough from scratch!? We have pizza night every Friday with our homemade dough. It really doesn’t take much effort. 🙂

  9. Ooh, pizza dough…I will have to try that (if I can find enough counter space to roll it out on, lol). Thanks for the recipe. I have tons of favorite books but had a squee moment this past weekend when I got a chance to meet Mercedes Lackey, as she is one of my favorite fantasy authors! Congrats on the new release, it sounds great!
